Prayer #106 - My Father-in-Law's health

Anonymous (Chattanooga, TN)

I am asking for prayer for my family. My elderly Father-in-Law is physically disabled, and has suffered from vascular dementia and Alzheimer for the past couple of years. He has prayed for God to take him. For the past two years, all he's talked about is how miserable his life has been, how we wishes he were "6-feet under", and what hurt my Mother-in-Law most, was for him to say every day that if he weren't a Christian, he would have already shot himself.  He doesn't want to live. His care, and emotional problems have taken a hard toll on my elderly Mother-in-Law. Her health has declined a lot the past couple of years because of this. My Father-in-Law's health has now brought him to the point of hospice (he is now in a care facility). Please ask God to go ahead and take him. I know this sounds horrible, but this is a lot of pressure for my family. He wants to go home. My Mother-in-Law needs a release, and so does he. My husband is depressed. It's been hard on my Brother-in-Law, who lives out of state.  They have responsibilities there, but he's been traveling back-and-forth to help as he is able.  That's been hard on his household.  For God to drag this out will prolong my Father-in-Law's suffering, will hurt our family, will keep pressure on my Mother-in-Law, and will prolong grief.  The kindest thing God could do, would be to go ahead and take this man home. It's what he wants.  Please ask God for mercy; that he'll bring this to a head, and bring peace to our family. Thank you.
