PRAYER #8 - THAILAND MISSION TRIP
Penny (Cypress, CA, USA) -
I would like prayer for my daughter, Karen, who is going on a mission trip to Pattaya, Thialand.
Pataya alone has approximately 20,000 prostitutes and that is only counting the women over the age of 18. It doesn't count the male prostitutes or the children (ages 5-17) who are forced into prostitution.
This mission trip is based out of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA. Karen will be gone 10 days starting June 20th. She has to raise $2600 to fund this mission trip.
This mission trip will be partnering with existing mission outreaches to support the Mercy House Orphanage, the Tamar Centre, the local HIV/AIDS hospitals, and the prison.
Some of this support will involve
1. Bar Ministry - go into the bars ans sit and talk to the women about God and pray for them and discuss employment alternatives.
2. Provide training for girls on skills they can utilize in other industries like card and jewelry making, baking, running hair and nail salons, etc.
3. teaching English to help them in obtaining other forms of work.
4. teach the children living in the slums and orphanage about God's love.
5. Helping repair the HIV hospice that is now housing children with AIDS.
Please pray for Karen's safety. Please pray for the success of this mission.
Please pray that Karen raises the funds that she needs so she may go and serve God. She has to raise the money by May 1st.

Thanks mom!
He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will recieve power when the Holy Spirit comes on you: and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1: 7-8
I have many reasons not to go on this trip, but God is definitely telling me to go. Saying "yes" to God has been AMAZING!
Thank you for your prayers! I know God has a purpose for me in Thailand and I am looking forward sharing God's love.
In His grip,
Karen
